Armchair Lata Greven - Year 1953
Carl Malmsten designed a number of "grevar" ("Counts") between the 1930s and 1950s. They were often ordered especially for various persons or projects. The original "Count" was designed for Count Carl Douglas, the Rom-Greve ("Count of Rome") was designed for the Swedish Institute in Rome, the Kockumsgreve was produced for the largest ship builder of the time and the "HD-greve" was made for the Högsta Domstol (Supreme Court) in 1947.
The Lata Greve ("Lazy Count") (1953) was the last of the Counts designed by Carl Malmsten. Perhaps he thought this was the accomplishment of his entire works.
